Omnomnoms

If you were to read the title, you would probably be having a hard time pronouncing it. My mum had a difficult time too trying to say OM-NOM-NOM in one go. (Great try tho, mom 😉) Anyways, this isn't pronunciation class. You can just say it the way your mouth wants to say it. Hahaha.

"Omnomnom" means a type of gesture people do when they are hungry and tend to gobble up anything they have to eat - this happens a lot during Ramadhan. Well, that's how I define it.

it is the name of my teenie weenie mini tiny little business i tried doing during the holidays.
I haven't really made it a big thing, didn't tweet or made an insta story, I didn't even tell my best friends. I was doubting a lot, I feel like its funny and embarrassing somehow.

I've had trauma (drama sangat) doing businesses before, I'm someone who fears rejection. Even in architecture I'd cry just because I couldn't do a mock up even when I haven't met the lecturer yet. Hahahaha. I can't stand people hating my products and pass by like its nothing. Like those salesmen or promoters who give pamphlets and you reject them. I. just. cannot.

It breaks my heart. Yes, I am a softie inside. But as growing up, you learn to be brave ans try new things and I've always wanted to know how its like to have my own money especially in these "money doesn't grow on trees" era.

So I tried :)

This little spark of bravery came out when my youngest sister Nabihah told me her batchmates like my cooking when she shared it with them. She said the macaroni I made was shared between two classes. They told her to tell me to sell it. It felt good. It was nice to know people enjoy eating what you cook. I LOVE COOKING by the way. Its my way to relieve stress and hunger of course.

I started it by making a poster using my graphic skills and some Photoshop skills just to do some advertising for my very own first product.

I named it "Lapaq Dak? By Omnomnoms" because of the phrase "LAPAQ" which to those who know me would know why. I felt like it was kewl in some type of way hahahahaha. 😎 I read the psychology tips too. They said put red and orange to make people hungry just like how McDonalds, Pizzahut ans KFC do it.

Then I went to buy the ingredients with my sister. I use my own money for the modal. I wanted to learn how its like using it from my own bank - not my parents. It would be more satisfactory in that way.

I started cooking the next day when my sister was going to go back to her hostel. It was a crazy few hours in the kitchen making sure everything was just right, clean and edible for my first customers.

Thanks to them, I get to enjoy cooking and I get money too. Hehehehe. Alhamdulillah for the rezeki and the learning process gained. And also to my mum and dad who taught me how to calculate everything because I hate maths. Not to forget this girl :
