Here I am, at the airport. One of my favourite places to observe human beings.
Not that I am a psychopath or a stalker whatever. I’m not a fan of crowded places, I guess I am claustrophobic, agoraphobic etc. The airport’s different though, especially in KLIA. I love the sky-bridge smell (I wish I could ask the stewardess what fragrance do they use in MAS aeroplanes), how its not so deafening despite of being a place for gathering, the noise deflection architecture is absolutely great and the reason why I love airports specifically this one is because how it reminds me of my childhood memories. I’ve been travelling around since I was in my Umi’s tummy, so this place gives me vivid memories in my mind.
I remember how I used to play at the KFC gigantic plane with my little brother, we would pretend to be pilots and fly the plane to wherever we would go, stare at the pilots and the crew, The many trolley ride fights and the best part that I enjoy every time I go to the airport is just seeing your family with the happiest faces waving at the gates eagerly waiting for your arrival to come home. Airports are just so heart-warming to me, its the first thing that welcomes you whenever you travel.
Apart from the airport building, I’m also an aeroplane enthusiast. I have been a huge fan of these aerodynamic robotic birds. I just wonder how Ibnu Firnas could figure out turbulence - maybe he thought of the birds I think. Its just magic how a heavy structure like this can fly and move for hours without falling from the sky. I’m 19 already and I still get excited seeing aeroplanes. My brother is also an aeroplane enthusiast, when he was younger he would tell me about everything that he knows about aeroplanes. I remember one time he asked me “Kakak, where’s the engine?” and I confidently answered “Its down there near the tyres-lah”. Clever me, and he laughed “That’s the cargo section".
Anyways...
I've loved flights and I would never miss to time the takeoff of a plane. I would relax myself, read the dua, fix my watch on my wrist and watch the second clock tick until the moment the plane is really up and flying. It takes approximately 38-40 seconds for a take off. It amazes me how beautifulof Allah's creation is high above. Its magnifique.
I hardly watch movies anymore on flights, I'm better off gazing the world down below, the clouds especially how they float and hang in the ever so blue sky. Its just luxury. Its a small escape from life to just relax and enjoy what you see without taking photos just your eyes, mind and feelings of humbleness.
I know its pretty much just babbles for this post, but I will never be bored of planes. I still enjoy them till today. I'm going to fly soon. Till then, to more flights and mini luxury shortscapes :)
